Booking a fitting
- How do I book a fitting?
- Pick a day and time on our booking page — it takes a minute. We take fittings Monday – Saturday, 09:00 – 18:00 (the last fitting starts at 17:00), and we send your confirmation by SMS.
- Is the fitting free?
- Yes — fittings are free. Come and try gowns on with no obligation.
- How far ahead can I book?
- Up to 30 days ahead, and as late as 2 hours before the time you want.
- Is the fitting private?
- Yes. We see one bride at a time — each fitting is an hour, and the room is yours.
- What should I bring?
- The people whose opinion you actually want, and shoes close to the ones you'll wear on the day.
- Can I change or cancel my appointment?
- Of course — call us on +251 97 533 2233 and we'll find you another time.
Renting a gown
- How does renting a wedding gown work?
- Try gowns on at a private fitting and choose yours.
- Reserve it for your date with a down payment, and sign the rental agreement.
- Before pickup, pay the rest of the rental fee and a refundable security deposit.
- Collect your gown before the wedding.
- Bring it back by the return date — we handle all the cleaning.
- How much does it cost to rent a gown?
- Each gown has its own rental price, shown on its page in the collection. The down payment to reserve it is a part of that price, and we tell you the exact amount when you reserve.
- What is the security deposit?
- A refundable amount you pay at pickup. It's returned in full when the gown comes back on the due date in the condition we recorded at pickup.
- What if I return the gown late?
- A late fee is charged for each day and taken from the deposit (the daily amount is written in your rental agreement). If a gown isn't returned within 7 days of the due date, it's treated as lost and its full replacement value becomes payable.
- What if the gown is damaged?
- Normal wear is expected. Damage, staining or alteration beyond that is charged at the cost of repair, up to the gown's replacement value — which is written in your agreement before you sign.
- Do you do alterations?
- Yes. We do alterations and adjustments in-house so your gown fits you properly. They're charged separately — they aren't included in the gown's price.
- Can I have the gown cleaned or altered myself?
- Please don't — don't alter, cut, dye or clean the gown elsewhere. Ohana Bridal handles all cleaning.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- 30 or more days before your event: your down payment is refunded in full.
- 14–29 days before: half of the down payment is kept.
- Less than 14 days before: the down payment is kept.
- The security deposit is only paid at pickup, so it isn't affected by cancelling before then.
Buying a gown
- Can I buy a gown instead of renting it?
- Yes — many of our gowns can be bought to keep. Each gown's page says whether it's available to rent, to buy, or both. Try it on at a private fitting and we'll take you through it.
Custom gowns
- Can you make a gown just for me?
- Yes. Tell us what you imagine — a description, reference photos, your size and your event date — and choose whether you want to keep the gown or rent it for your day. We review your request and send you a quote.
- How do I pay for a custom gown?
- In full, before we begin making it — online with the link we send you, by bank transfer, or at the shop. Once it's paid, your gown goes into production.
- What does a custom rental quote include?
- One total that covers the rental price, the security deposit and the cost of making your gown.
- What happens when my custom gown is ready?
- We book your final fitting before the event and let you know by email and SMS. At that visit you try it on, sign, and take it home.
- How long does a custom gown take?
- Usually from two weeks to a month, depending on the design. That's why we ask for your event date up front — we confirm the timing with your quote.
Payment
- How can I pay?
- In cash at the shop, by bank transfer, or by scanning a QR code with your banking or mobile-money app. Prices are in Ethiopian birr.
